" The airport police at Minneapolis-St. Paul International are undergoing specialized training called "behavior pattern recognition."What types of behaviors are they looking for, "If they are dressed in a way you wouldn't expect or if they are exhibiting nervous behaviors, or any other kind of behavior that just doesn't fit into the airport environment," explained airport spokesman Pat Hogan.He says the entire staff of the airport police will be fully trained by the end of 2006 which will make Minneapolis-St. Paul International one of only a handful of airports to have the training."It's really based on Israeli techniques. Things they've been using in Israel for decades because of the kinds of challenges they've faced for years," said Hogan. Miami and at least two other airports use behavior pattern recognition. Tel Aviv airports former security director runs the company that trained local airport police. Rafi Ron said terrorists do not behavior "normally", "You do not behave normally when you are walking around with an explosive device strapped to your body."The Transportation Security Administration or TSA tested a similar program in the Twin Cities and it's now rolling the program out nationally.Both the TSA and Hogan say eyeballing behavior helps keep the airport routine, routine, "It's one more way to keep people safe," said Hogan.
